Pompous much? This is just off the Market Square and makes me smile whenever I see it. I know I'm a bear of very little brain but shouldn't it be 'and such use shall', not 'user'...?
CDP is, of course, dedicated to the public use... =}

Voyager
The Cambridge Drawing Society, of which Ronald Searlewas once a member, are having their annual exhibition at the Guildhall at the moment. I popped in to get out of all this same-ol'-same-ol'-sunshine we're having this winter whereupon I found loads of stuff I wanted to buy but most of all a couple of works by an artist called Julie McGrath of which this is a detail of 'Voyager'. I broke the 'Absolutely No Photography' rule obviously but I figured I needed to remember the picture that I was contemplating selling a Godchild in order to buy. I mean, i love it but it's £400. How much do you get for a kidney these days...?

Drawing In
I'm getting pretty busy at the moment and there's more pressing demands on my time than the blog I'm afraid. That doesn't mean it's over, just that it'll probably become an 'almost-daily' or a cambridge-sporadic-photo. Which is a shame I know - especially as 16,535 people have visited(!!); to you and them, my sincere thanks. So I'll do my best and we'll see how it goes - see you around hopefully.
Oh btw – I was up here, one of my very favourite places, for a few days (here's their site) and I was only slightly perturbed by this...

Way Out
Ok, so Sunday's post was a bit of a 1st April thing... We don't really have horses running down the streets - more's the pity. But in all the jollity (!) I forgot to mention I'm away this week so have just used someone else's pc to post this and let you know I'll be back at the weekend. Sayonara.

The Mane Attraction
Much like the way in which Paris shuts some streets to cars on Sundays to allow cyclists and pedestrians a chance to enjoy their city, on the last Saturday of each month Cambridge City Council bans our ubiquitous bicycles from the central area to allow equestrians and pedestrians free rein of that part of the city. As you may know, Newmarket, the historic Home of Racing, is but 15 miles to the east of the city and many owners take the opportunity to run their steeds and put on a spectacle for the children. It's always great fun and is a clue as to why a massive 70% of local residents learn to ride horses once they've mastered their bicycles. Sadly, I could never quite get the hang of it and so stick to two wheels...
