I keep walking past this and forgetting to catch a shot to post even though it's one of my favourite Cambridge buildings. Situated on Emmanuel Road it's not very prepossessing I know but I have a soft spot for ex-pubs. I'm sure you've guessed that it used to be called The Golden Rose. I'm not sure when it stopped serving beer - before my time that's for sure but I'm pleased that the subsequent occupants have kept the facade original - especially the curved doors and, of course, the rose itself. And regarding the quote, I suspect Bonham's (auctioneers) smells a lot sweeter than the pub did...

Sweet facade!
Charming curved door!
The curved façade along with the colour of the bricks, fabulous. And Bonhams have colour coordinated with appropriate tase and colour. But then they would, wouldn't they? Neo, you don't visit anymore? Pourquoi pas, my friend?
it's a wonderfyl building! Curved doors...how wonderful!
I just stumbled onto your blog today. Great pictures! Of course, it helps to have such a beautiful city to photograph, doesn't it?
Somehow I think there were more frivolous times in there back when it was a pub! Nice facade tho...sorry, I don't know how to make that little punctuation mark on the c! LOL! ;-) Great shot BTW!
